Coco peat is not a single uniform material. Buyers should identify the intended crop or growing system and discuss expansion volume, electrical conductivity, pH, moisture, particle distribution, fibre percentage, washing, buffering and compression ratio. Block or briquette size affects handling and container planning. Low-EC material may require washing, while some professional horticultural programmes request buffered material. Sampling and test methods should be agreed because results can vary with preparation. Packaging, pallet configuration, labels and destination phytosanitary requirements should be confirmed before loading.
